What is Square Dancing?

Contemporary square dancing is a fun, vibrant & fast growing dance form.

Done in groups of 8, dancers execute 'movements' which the caller (instructor) strings together into interesting & smooth sequences.

Dancers don't need to memorize entire routines or dances, instead just small movements - which makes it a lot simpler to learn then many other dance forms.

Another fascinating aspect is the music. You'll dance to music from all eras (50s & 60s all the way through to songs from 2025), all genres (pop, country, rock n roll, disco, jazz, even classical and so many more) and from almost every artist you can imagine (such as Elvis, Keith Urban, Taylor Swift, Michael Buble, Kylie Minogue, Gotye, CCR, Neil Diamond and so so much more.) No matter what your favourite songs are, you are sure to dance to them whilst square dancing!
